Missionary work is so exciting and challenging! We wake up every day to some new twist of ...
... an old problem (which in turn must be faced and solved). On the other hand, we get excited seeing God move in unusual ways as He answers our pleads with spectacular moves and miracles as we go about our daily chores.
We really see ourselves as the laboratory of the Apostolic Church. That is a strong statement, yet, true. You see, new strains of sin usually show up first on the missionary field, as, also, we are (usually) the first to feel the breeze of fresh revival winds blowing. This kind of frontline work can be very stressful, but we don’t mind as long as you are there (on the home front) holding us up in supportive prayer.
Please find attached my latest FaithFlash focusing on the Spiritual Laboratory idea. Enjoy.
Meanwhile, we are so busy attending the multiple facets of this missionary work.
I just arrived back from Sumare, SP (a city in central Brazil) where we held our annual Apostolic Men´s Retreat. The Baptist campground (which we rent at a reasonable rate) was packed with several hundred apostolic men. Many had to sleep on the floor… but to no apparent complaint… after all, the meetings over the weekend were overflowing with God´s power and blessings:

Then, on the complete other side of the spectrum, I just received a few photos from another (of many that open weekly) new preaching point in someone´s home. This one hails from Portão, a small town north of my home base. The pastor´s name is Maicon (you can see him in the back of the picture) and he is ON FIRE for God! Before he came to the Lord he was addicted to terrible drugs and ate (and slept) in garbage bins. He has a powerful story of redemption to tell. You need to meet him!
I guess that means you will need to come to Brazil! Smiles.
Meanwhile, we are counting on your prayers on our behalf. We would love also to hear from you… call or write any time!
If this news letter is acceptable to you, please don´t hesitate to post it to the church bulletin board… we are ever more grateful for their faithful support!
