Praise the Lord
As you probably already know, the seasons in Brazil are opposite of the USA seasons. This means that while you all are currently entering into winter, we are beginning ...
... summer here in Brazil.
That also means that we are busy gearing up for major outreach thrusts across this vast country. In every town and corner of the six regions we have Apostolic works, we are preparing for the mighty harvest of souls God has promised us. We firmly believe that 2012 will give us a BUMPER CROP of souls!
Many of our friends and supporters have the wrong concept about what missionary work is all about. Many think that a missionary is merely a pastor of a congregation on some foreign field. While that may be true of some missionaries in others parts of the world, that is not our case!
We (the Lambeth Family) are, above all, outreach “specialists” and coordinators of faithful Brazilian Apostolic pastors. That means we concentrate on organizing each pastor and his congregation into a soulwinning nucleus. Surely you can read between the lines: we are talking about MUCH travel and long nights on buses and cars (not to mention red-eye flights).
For example, today I was up before the sun and driving into Porto Alegre (the major city south of our HQ compound) to pick up Nara (my wife) at the bus station. She was busy over the last weekend coordinating our Apostolic ladies endeavors in the state of Santa Catarina. Meanwhile, a little later this week, another family member is scheduled to departure toward another sector of Brazil. We are (obviously) perpetually tired… but a very happy family, proud of God´s Calling on our lives.
Such extensive travel requires money, sometimes lots of money (smiles). Thanks to your faithful offering, which arrived into our hands this last week, we can commit ourselves to greater challenges! May God bless you and your church for such missionary faithfulness!
Focusing this letter on another part of missionary work, over the next few days we will be preparing and mapping our missionary objectives for 2012… which will arrive in a few short days. Truly, missionary work is mostly a spiritual calling and endeavor… yet, we would be amiss not to (also) plan focus points and missions (pardon the pun) in an organized manner. I know that some frown on such matters… but you surely don´t want your missionary partners (the Lambeths) running around without direction and focus, do you!?!
Does such type of planning work?
Not always, never fully… but, without such strategic planning, we would never be able to measure our work at the end of the year! We already know that 2011 was much better than 2010 (which was a difficult year for most Apostolic churches around the world). However, the King is soon to return… so, we are planning a final push into the Rapture! Join us in this effort: continue to pray and support this missionary endeavor during the whole coming year!
Allow me to be bold: please consider offering 366 prayers on our behalf during 2012, once a day! Don´t forget… 2012 is a leap year… that means we will get one extra prayer during the year!
Even bolder: why not organize you church family into praying units (families), giving them the names of the missionaries you all support… having them pray DAILY for all of us missionaries! Do it! We NEED your prayers!
We would be most thankful!
