Looking down the road,
As far as I can see.
There's a great high mountain
Looming ahead of me
As far as I can see.
There's a great high mountain
Looming ahead of me
My spirit gets depressed,
As I think of the climb
Then I start pondering,
On things I left behind.
Those things were dreadful,
Yes, sinful too.
So I started thanking the Lord,
For bringing me on through.
He's bringing me out of the valley,
Very deep and wide.
That is why I'm climbing,
Up on the mountainside.
Each valley that I face,
Is just a trail to overcome.
And when I reach the mountaintop,
It is a victory won.
So I thank God for the valleys,
The mountaintops too.
For if there were no trials,
There would be no victories for me and you.
As I think of the climb
Then I start pondering,
On things I left behind.
Those things were dreadful,
Yes, sinful too.
So I started thanking the Lord,
For bringing me on through.
He's bringing me out of the valley,
Very deep and wide.
That is why I'm climbing,
Up on the mountainside.
Each valley that I face,
Is just a trail to overcome.
And when I reach the mountaintop,
It is a victory won.
So I thank God for the valleys,
The mountaintops too.
For if there were no trials,
There would be no victories for me and you.
